- Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment, victimisation and other conduct prohibited by the Act
- Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not
- Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not
The protected characteristics we will consider are:
- Gender reassignment
- Marriage and Civil Partnership
- Pregnancy and maternity
- Religion and belief
- Sexual orientation
This means we will take account of the diversity of the population we serve, and the potential barriers some people face when accessing health services and how we can work to reduce these.
NHS North East Hampshire and Farnham CCG is implementing the Equality Delivery System (EDS) which will deliver on the general and specific duties of the public sector Equality Duty. The EDS is a nationally recognised performance management toolkit that has been developed to support NHS organisations to drive up equality performance and embed into mainstream business. EDS is all about making positive differences to healthy living and working lives.
