‘Meet the…’ sessions
In 2017/18 a series of sessions took place with CCG staff and local community representatives to build networks, enhance relationships and start conversations with local communities. These sessions included meetings with military families, Gypsy, Roma and traveller families, representatives from the Gurkha community and Community Ambassadors. Going forward there are three more sessions planned for 2019. These will begin in May include sessions covering the themes of visual impairment and blindness (working with local charity ‘Opensight’), hearing loss and autism.
The CCG was recently represented at a Wessex Voices event ‘Engaging in Health Inequalities’ the work of the CCG including the Community Ambassador and Innovation Conference schemes were discussed and shared as examples of good practice in terms of reducing health inequalities. A full report makes five clear recommendations that could be used to help clarify CCG action plans for the year ahead.
The full report and summary are available on the Wessex Voices website.
